Exclusive Collections

Christian Windhorst
Home & Hotel Interiors

Furnishing collections for the home and hotel sectors are created in the Stuttgart studio of Christian Windhorst. At the beginning, he says, there is always a mood which becomes the basis for new collections of furniture, fabric design and home accessories. “It is never just an individual piece of furniture but rather a whole atmosphere which we create”. And it could be the atmosphere of a journey to a distant country or even just an aperitif in a hotel lounge that is the basis of his inspiration. From that mood, new furniture, collections and fabrics are created, with their very special own character.

Planning and design –
how we work ...

Whether for your main home or for furnishing a holiday apartment, hotels, lounges or restaurants, we see your furnishing as an entirety. Starting from an analysis of your layout plan, we develop a furnishing concept and create fabric collages which give you a clear impression of the way your new rooms will look.

Only after that are the furniture and fabrics chosen from our exclusive collections to give your rooms the desired character. Based on this, carpets, lamps, home accessories and mirrors are placed to finalize the scene. That’s how spaces with a lived in atmosphere are created!

... finishing
and crafting!

When everything has been chosen and coordinated we start the work for you in our craftsman studios and workshops!

Furniture from our collections is produced for you with the finish you have chosen and possible
custom-made pieces arranged with our carpenters. And we sew your window dressings and
cushions with the fabrics you have especially selected. Our brand stands for exclusivity!

A vintage Apartment

Staying in the city
because of the cultural facilities
and the proximity

Originally they had dreamed of a retirement house in the country. But when they didn't really find the right place, they changed their minds and decided to redecorate the city apartment they had in a vintage building.

All the rooms were given a complete renovation and this time round there were not going to be any compromises. The lady of the house dreamt of a smart and elegant living and dining area while he wanted to have a bedroom in an exotic style.

Today they are glad they can buy their fresh bread rolls for breakfast just around the corner
or spontaneously decide to spend an evening at the opera.

or spontaneously decide to spend an evening at the opera.

It's the little
details ...

... such as the character pieces, the mirrors, lamps and accessories which, arranged
perfectly, link the room to its furnishings.

Sporty yet elegant

White furniture in front of cream-coloured walls, white floorboards, taffeta and linen and a bit of gold in the room go together to create the ambience. There is plenty of room on the long LA GARNITURE sofa which has slip-covers. The SERVITEUR side-tables can be used flexibly and the CHARPENTIER armchair is available in many different fabrics.

Staying at the table and enjoying
the after-dinner conversation

The RONDE table sofa with slip-covers is made up of several curved segments and can be grouped together any way you like.

Just a little bit
theatrical ...

The TEATRO chandelier with its many crystals grabs your attention in the middle of the room and always provides the right light.

Inspired by
distant lands

Bedroom with
a living room
character

The living area and the roomy bedroom are linked by a fireplace which opens to both sides. The RENDEZVOUS sofa in the bedroom offers a comfortable place to retire to for reading, watching TV or just relaxing.

A traveller feeling
in your own bedroom ...

They were always fascinated by exotic lands and that's why the bedroom was decorated to evoke a touch of this wanderlust. The wood finishings in bamboo and in warm cherry tones combined with the woven fur throws in leopard-skin look make them feel as if they are in Africa!

City apartment

A city apartment in the middle
of Frankfurt, at least as nice
as being at the family house

She was very pleased to get the new job in the city but was not happy at the prospect of living out of a suitcase from Monday to Friday, away from her lovely house. So, just as spontaneously as she made the right decisions in her corporate career, she decided to furnish her little city abode properly, right from the start.

Nowadays she relaxes after work on the LA GARNITURE corner cushion sofa or retires to her
bedroom with its special flair and feels completely at home.

With a big city flair

The corner cushion sofa LA GARNITURE is simple in design and with its many cushions very
comfortable. When combined with the arched lamp TEATRO and the small tray table LA SERVITEUR
it creates a young and modern look.

Console table is an eye-catcher

The hand-crafted console table CONSOLE gives the whole room a very special
character and is very eye-catching.

Modern wall elements
for a city apartment

The BIBLIOTHEQUE collection made up of architectural modules, framed doors and shelves allows you to make a feature of any wall. The flat-screen TV can also be elegantly incorporated.

The small shelf-lamps from the LAITON series can be used to illuminate and feature any special collector pieces.

Hospitality using linen
creates a young ambience ...

The table sofa LOUNGER is popular with guests.
It is available in varying lengths and also to
form corner settings.

Linen, linen and linen – from fine to rough!

A simply rolled-up linen blind decorates the
window without detracting from the window's
attractive shape.

Do women sleep differently?

No, but they do want a bedroom decorated with a bit more feeling. The boxspring bed CLAYON
with a bedhead in twill is puristic and provides a comfortable backrest when you are reading.
And the LAITON wall lamp with its linen lampshade can be swiveled into place.

With a suitcase drawer ...

in which the opened suitcase can be stowed. This way you can conveniently live out of your suitcase and you only need to hang up the things which should not crease.

The console table combined with a mirror
becomes a dressing table and gives the room
a feminine charm.

Penthouse

Modern architecture
furnished with feeling

He discovered the advertisement for the penthouse in the weekend newspaper when he was having his breakfast and during the inspection, as a passionate cook, he fell in love with the roomy and open living and dining area and the open-plan kitchen. Besides, he had always dreamt of an apartment with big windows and a terrace overlooking the city park in Munich.

When furnishing it, he really wanted to create an emotional counter-balance to the large,
modern walls and windows. On the one hand the new furniture should be modern and on the other hand it should feel inviting. In the kitchen he wanted cupboard fronts with louvers to give a lighter appearance. But the choice of colours and materials should not detract from or
compete with the wonderful views.

Today the monthly cook-off with his friends usually takes place in his penthouse. They love his idea of a cosy live-in kitchen and, weather permitting, the evenings always finish up on his large, living-room sized terrace.

LA GARNITURE – THE VERSATILE SOFA

LA GARNITURE is available in varying lengths, as a corner cushion sofa and also has trapezoidal-shaped modules which can be grouped to form rounded corner sections. With this sofa range, which comes with slip covers, all kinds of situations can be accommodated. Whether you prefer two chaise longues for the tv room, a long sofa for your elegant living room or the small cuddly sofa version for your holiday home, you are guaranteed coziness.

Live-in penthouse kitchen

If the floorplan allows it, kitchens and dining rooms are being combined more and more –
the good old "live-in" kitchen is celebrating its revival here in a penthouse.

Conviviality in the live-in kitchen

The RUSTIQUE dining table in neutralised oak builds a contrast to the white kitchen, as well as
providing plenty of space. Everybody wants to sit on the LOUNGER table-sofa and it doesn't matter
if it gets crowded.

For cook-offs

The central cooking island unit and the bench-top are soon surrounded
when it comes to a cook-off.

Table sets
and cushions ...

are in linen and evoke conviviality
on every occasion.

Cooking island unit
with breakfast counter

During the week, this is a favourite place for a quick café au lait and a glance at the newspaper. During a cook-off, everybody gathers here to peer into the cooking pots.

Kitchen fronts with louvres

The attractive louvres give the cupboard fronts a lighter appearance and form a
contrast to the large glass fronts.

OUTDOOR LIVING

In good weather, the terrace with its garden table and rattan chairs TERRASSE is an extension
of the living area.

The lanterns with linen covers provide a warm light and create a pleasant mood on long summer evenings.

Bayview Cottage

Inspired by the Atlantic –
writing and living at the seaside

After studying and starting out in his career as journalist in busy Berlin, the writer Daniel Buchner finally fulfils his dream on the west coast of Ireland, a holiday cottage and a refuge where he can write.Every year he spends the summer and autumn months here, facing the surge of the Atlantic and enjoying the quiet hours during which he finds the inspiration he needs for his writing. Now he has treated himself to the dream of furnishing his cottage just as he wants. He always wanted clear lines which suited the vastness and muted colours of the sea. That means furniture which is simple, timeless, reduced, elegant and practical at the same time. His two 16 and 18 year old daughters, Mia and Charlotte, often come after all from Berlin to spend a part of their vacation here with him. So, the furniture has to suit the working needs of Dad as well as emit the charm of a cosy holiday cottage.

So, the furniture has to suit the working needs of Dad as well as emit the charm of a cosy holiday cottage.

Where Irish traditions are nurtured

The small cottage on the bay of the Atlantic consists basically of only a living room and a bedroom. On the ground floor there is a small entry in front of the little kitchen – it is too big just to serve as an entry with coat rack and too small to be a proper room – so it has become the bar of the house! This is where dinner guests are served Irish Whisky while the cooking goes on next door. The bar cupboard PRESENTE conceals beneath a hatch a mirrored bar compartment and below that a wine refrigerator and a bottle rack. Daniel’s collection of straw hats gives the room a charming personal touch.

Where colours and design are held
back and cosiness is not forgotten

Living and working in one room: From the very beginning the intention was to plan the furniture primarily around a combined living room and work space, with lots of cosy feeling.

Comfortable
luxury for two
as well

The electrically adjustable recamier LA GARNITURE replaces a sofa for reasons of restricted space. It has a comfortably luxurious feeling when reading and watching TV and there is even enough room for the two girls when they come.

There is always the pub

In the village three miles away Daniel can stock up with basics and enjoy a guinness at the pub. If inspiration fails him at his desk, he grabs one of his straw hats and drives to the pub. At the bar the locals tell him stories which he himself couldn’t write better! On the way back with a view of the dramatically rough Atlantic coast he starts the writing process again, in his head.

Learnt from his parents

If his daughters distract him too much from his work during the summer vacation, he sends them off on a walk to the lighthouse, where on warm summer days they can safely swim.

A creative
workplace

The desk PRESENTE with extensions at the front and side offers a lot of room for working. The work surface has a layer of leather applied
to it as a desk pad.

A lot of storage
space for files ...

The drawers of the filing cabinet PRESENTE come also as hanging files and provide a lot space for documents.

... and attractive accessories

Behind flaps with glass filling and leather grips there is space for attractive accessories which create a special atmosphere in the working space.

Picturesque
details

The clear lines of the furniture are interrupted by a few, picturesque details. The nostalgic shelf supports LES ETAGIERS and the bamboo filling used in the coffee table VOYAGEUR remove any touch of severity from the furnishing.

Like the waves of the sea

The window dressing of white linen has a batik pattern in grey Atlantic tones down the sides. The high raised seam is held at wide intervals by large rings which makes it fall in a wave-like pattern and gives the decoration its lightness.

With a lot of feeling

The simple bedroom on the basement level was the room which Daniel Buchner put the most effort into when decorating. It was a room without any interesting architectural details and without a nice view and, as a bedroom, without any particular charm. But he wanted to sleep in a room with charm!

Charming
details

Fine weaving, rolled linen blinds on ribbons and velvet cushions with piping and buttons give the room a lot of feeling.

Entrée

The calling card of every hotel

The philosophy and atmosphere of every good hotel should be visible right from the start, in the lobby.  After a long journey the guests should arrive in a place with a special atmosphere. The check-in should be a celebration and on the way to their rooms the guests’ enthusiasm should grow. Of course, the room which they finally reach should exceed their expectations.

For this reason the many windows in the reception hall were decoratively dressed up with drapes and for the welcome drink attractive accessories were chosen. Today glasses are
always waiting under a woven cover on a beautiful, old silver tray, ready for the guests who
are then surprised to receive something presented in a way they did not quite expect.

You can of course call it perfection when a consistent style permeates the whole hotel.
It is this perfection which long remains with the guests in their memories and which turns
them into regulars.

Villino Suite

The rooms under the roof where the hotel owners themselves used to live have been turned into the Villino Suite with fantastic views of the Lindau vineyards. The rustic roof supports were meticulously painted a delicate olive green and have given the rooms a completely new look.

The intention was to create a style that impresses the guests but does not distract from the views. The cosy, liveable atmosphere should be preserved so that the guests feel even more at home than in a hotel room – although any guest of the hoteliers Sonja and Reiner Fischer
always feels at home.

Nowadays families and groups of friends love to book the suite with its bedroom and living area, which can easily and quickly be converted into a further overnight area for guests.

Metamorphosis

The CANAPÉ sofa bed can be converted in a jiffy into a comfortable bed for the night. And during the day you can nap on it comfortably when the cushions are removed.

RELAIS & CHATEAUX

The Hotel Villino is a member
of the Relais & Chateaux organisation
– an association of luxury hotels.

Everything
in its place!

The VOYAGEUR side table and night table
conveniently conceals the water
supplies for the night.

ALL TUCKED IN ...

You can sleep and dream in the DORMIRE boxspring bed – a bed type still often unknown
in the private home – but now more or less standard in hotels.

ALWAYS AT YOUR SERVICE

The SERVITEUR folding tables done in leather are very versatile and even folded up they look good in any room.

NIGHTCAP

If your guests return from a good dinner and
digestifs to their hotel room and still feel like
a final nightcap, then they probably just find
the mini-bar VOYAGEUR irresistible.

LIFESTYLE

With the right accessories you can awaken the desire for the finer things in life. Accessories are an important part of the whole which both complete the design and fill any hotel room with life.
